FB Vs TNRS..!

Recently happened to enter into the facebook world! There were no expectations around and I simply started observing the busy fb fellows..
I know, I'm very late to enter into fb but I realized it heavily when I noticed the profile of a new born baby! The best part is - the kid who is less than 100 days old, have had 100+ friends already!!

Anyways, I cannot compete with that well-experienced kid but tried to see if I can survive for a while :)

Interesting posts, comments, snaps, etc, etc. Great time killer! Sometimes I used to think, why shouldn't we consider merging the matrimonial sites with facebook?! It is mutually equal beneficial to bachelors and spinsters, isn't it?

However, fb is not only for unmarried species.. it is a world where everyone from all different age groups participate and contribute.. That is the reason which allowed me to compare facebook with T-Nagar Ranganathan Street..!
--

You might have visited T-Nagar Ranganathan Street before.. If not, don't worry.. it is very easy to imagine..
It is the most lively shopping place in Chennai where wind will be struggling to enter the street but  people do without problems..
Example to say - it is the place similar to ThanksgivingDay-Walmart.. Only difference is ThanksGivingDay-Walmart is annual event but TNRS is a day-to-day event in Chennai! :)

Now it is my duty to explain, how dare I can compare fb with TNRS -

There are many points to list down but to start with -
Wherever you enter, either fb or TNRS, you would just need to step-in and the crowd will take you away and will make sure to push you to either side of the extreme ends..

Lets take couple of real example scenarios -
If you are familiar with ladies sarees section in TNRS shops, you could have noticed one thing for sure -
Every girl customer in TNRS shops will be ambitiously looking at all the sarees showcased in the shop and will start torturing the sales person to get her the perfect design she wants. By the time the poor sales-guy finished showing almost every material available in the shelves, she will look at the next girl's saree and will start thinking -
"Ada! Awesome - I really LIKE that saree"..! "and I want to SHARE the same saree!"  :)

I think, boy or girl (no bias), almost everyone is doing the same thing in fb! - 'Like -n- Share'
Anyways - it's not too good to compare the fb with saree section but have to agree the way it is! :)

There is another ideal situation for guyz too! -  It is one of the embarrassing situation where one has to sit idle for hours and hours in the busy TNRS shops and sometimes it might get extended to almost the entire day without any shopping! A common belief is that a married man is more vulnerable to these situations :)
Only good way to spend this time useful is to watch the 'colors' - I mean, dress colors. Usually any weekend day is not a boring day in TNRS. So, have to be careful in choosing these visiting days.
FB differs a little - fb is colorful all through the year! And you can go-on and browse through the profile pics until the profile owner stops you with a friendship-permit issue!
I strongly agree, this is not a purely guys' business but girls too get majorly profited with this!
Btw, it was NEVER my business so I do not have any more statistics on this! [believe me] ;)

As we well aware, the profile pics play important role.!. Theoretically, every profile pic has to represent one's original character.. but most of the times, it is actually NOT!

will drive you through some quick sample profiles -

The hi-fi professional snap - Straight eyes at the camera begging for a decent pose - Professional attire mostly with tie!
But actually the real version will be recognized, only when we get into his/her wall or "photo's of" section; there could be some snaps, taken in wild forest camps and posing for underwater snaps with only underwears! (sorry uncensored :)

Apart from the contradictory version of profile pics - There are lot of profiles hold the 'dynamic nature' of photos -
Guys in the very age of their marriage, the initial photo would hold a outdoor snap with minimum 31 teeth visible in the face..
Suddenly in one good day - the photo will be changed to a snap where he/she is graphic-ed (new word?!) to be happy with their spouse!
Hmm.. but it will not last for ever.. within short period, the profile pic will get changed to a snap where he/she stands in somewhat confused state (at least lesser teeth this time :)
After somedays - he (not she) will change the photo to completely confused state - having finger in the forehead, looking somewhere in the corner and thinking about some good past-time!
Ok.. ok. hold on - this may happen to both boys and girls. But they will finally get a good common reason to hide their confused faces - by replacing their photos with their new born baby!
A great relief - they can manage it with their kids latest snaps for next coming near-future years :)  [disclaimer: all imaginary situation mentioned here ]

Another type could be -
A cute baby's photo/A cute doll's photo - Most girls do this but not-even-a-single-boy tries this!
Never understood the real intention behind this, but it always tells us that - either they do not want to publish their snaps or they do not have one to publish!
Either case, they are visiting t-nagar in encrypted masked mode! It is good for them but not for other no-purchase-but-waiting married visitors! :)

Another type could be - Holding other celebrity's photo - Usually and mostly this category photos are the snaps of cricket players or cini-artists! Those who hold this type of photos, they are very likely to have more photos uploaded to their albums and none of them will be theirs' !
Do you agree? If you have not noticed before, you will start noticing it :)

The remaining percentage of profiles comes under the final category! - 'No profile pic'
Most of the times, these type of profiles think that this is the safest and free from no-head-breaking-confusion in photo selection. But actually yes, it is true. We do not need to worry, how the profile pic will represent our character to the public.
BUT in real time scenario - none of our frnds will encourage one to hide in the TNRS corners and do the color watching activity alone.. In fact, frnds should force them to come forward and share the joy!
fyi- it had happened for me too.. After realizing this TNRS fact, I searched through all my old albums to choose one which looked decently casual..
So - Now I'm fully legal to watch the TNRS colors!! How about you? :)

Anyways, the current generation meet their friends everyday digitally.. and they get a chance to share their special moments at the same minute.. but everything virtually
In future, proverbs could have been rewritten as - 'Facebook Is The Index Of Mind'

by-the-way, let us know: Are you legal to visit FB / T-Nagar Ranganathan street?

Enjoy the life,
Nimal
